The overarching aim and major objective of the conference was to transfer on the lessons learned from the past and discuss the knowledge gained from QualityNANO within the broader nanosafety community, identify challenges and research directions. This also aptly served as an opportune moment to hold a project meeting within the scope of the conference for NanoClassifier. With Attana AB hosting a stand at the event.
Especially interesting was the topic of characterizing and quantifying nanoparticle interactions with cells. These interactions are the central challenges in the context of nanosafety and the applications of nanosized materials in nanomedicine. Formation of biological corona and its effect on the nanoparticle – cells interactions was especially emphasized. Attana’s cell-based biosensors and the collaboration with UCD, Dublin, in the framework of NanoClassifier is of great significance in that direction.
